When you visit the website
Microsoft Azure serves the pages and receives technical information needed to deliver them, such as your IP address, the requested address and browser information. This supports delivery and helps prevent incidents and abuse. The basis is the legitimate interest in keeping the website available and secure. We do not use it for advertising or decisions about individuals.
Article searches run in your browser. We do not send the search text to an external search engine. We do not include free search text in newly shared links. Avoid entering personal or confidential information.
Preferences on your device
Your chosen appearance and the identifiers of articles you choose to save remain in this browser's local storage. They are not synchronised with an account or other devices. Change them on the website or delete the site's data in your browser; they have no automatic expiry set by us.
Analytics
If you accept analytics, Microsoft Clarity receives technical browser information, visited pages, clicks, scrolling and interaction recordings with masked content. This helps us improve the website and understand article and resource use. Consent is optional: rejecting or closing the notice lets you keep using the website.
We load Clarity only after acceptance and do not send earlier activity. We grant analytics storage permission and deny advertising storage. Microsoft also acts as an independent controller, whose terms include its own uses, including product improvement and advertising: this signal does not exclude all those uses. See the Clarity terms and Microsoft privacy statement. Processing may occur in the United States and other countries; Microsoft publishes safeguards for international transfers.
Clarity uses the first-party _clck and _clsk cookies to associate visits and sessions. Microsoft also documents third-party cookies; their use depends on consent and browser behaviour. See the provider's inventory. We store your choice, date and version in nexo-privacy-v1 for up to 180 days, to respect it without asking on every page.
Withdraw permission by opening “Privacy preferences” in any page footer and choosing “Reject analytics”. We remove Clarity's first-party cookies and reload the page to stop collection. Withdrawal is communicated to other open tabs on the same origin. Cookies from other domains are managed through the browser; withdrawal does not automatically erase data already received by Microsoft.
Ordinary recordings are retained for 30 days; heatmaps, click data and labelled, favourite or Microsoft-sampled sessions for nine months. We record public content identifiers and language, opens, scrolling milestones and 30 seconds of visibility, resource requests and pre-approved campaign labels. These describe consented use, not exact unique readers or proof of reading or completed downloads. We do not send account identifiers, free search text or private editorial records. We use strict masking and exclude entries whose URLs or referrers fail our validation.
If you contact us
The contact link opens your email application. If you choose to write, we receive your email address, your name if included, and your message in the project's Gmail inbox. We use these to handle the enquiry, based on our legitimate interest in responding to voluntary contact, without adding you to a mailing list. We retain correspondence while necessary to resolve the matter and address potential liabilities. Do not send passwords or customer documents.
Providers and external links
The website uses Microsoft Azure for hosting and Google Gmail for email. These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. We do not claim that the entire service is hosted in Spain. See the privacy terms and transfer safeguards published by Microsoft and Google.
Links to social networks, sources and videos lead to independent services with their own terms. Social profiles do not act as email subscription forms for this website. The editorial desk is a separate private service restricted to its authorised operator.
Retention and your rights
Retention of technical logs depends on the hosting provider's configuration and terms. Local data remains until you delete it or the browser clears it. We do not maintain a registered-reader database or build profiles for automated decisions.
You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability where applicable using the contact above. We will request only information necessary to verify and handle the request. You may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency. If we introduce processing based on consent, withdrawing it will not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
